MeadWestvaco Evaporator Design Specification
FeedForward was contracted by MeadWestvaco to develop a functional design specification for the evaporators. The existing system utilized single loop controllers in a local control room. The upgrade scope included tying existing I/O to a Foxboro I/A system in a new Central Control Room.
The design specification included the following:
- A detailed control system architecture drawing showing I/O count and locations, new Foxboro processor and workstations, and gateways to new and existing PLC's.
- A description of the control functions and interlocks as programmed in the existing single loop controller.
- A complete graphic display hierarchy and description for the evaporator process.
- A final I/O list complete with tag assignments, ranges, alarm points, etc.
- A complete Bill of Materials for new Foxboro I/A equipment.
MeadWestvaco used the specification as the basis for implementing the new evaporator controls.
